Jesus, we sense that these next several weeks may bring out the best and the worst in us. We pray that both of these may shape more of your image and likeness into us, drawing out new depths of Christ-likeness and maturity. As we are forced to fast from good things in this season of Lent, help us to see our newly imposed limits as an invitation to slow down. As the idols of our hearts are exposed, help us to turn to you, the Fountain of Living Water. As we live in close proximity to one another in our homes and may not have the luxury of sending our kids to school or escaping into our places of work, help us to imitate you, Jesus. Help us to walk in love as you have loved us and gave yourself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. May we submit to one another out of reverence for you, even in mundane moments of annoyance with one another. Help us to delight in serving one another in small ways, like making meals and doing the dishes.
